Its July!! Once again its the season of cookouts, outdoor movies, ice cream cones and sunsets on the beach. To be honest, last year my friends and I didn’t finish everything on the 2015 summer bucket list, but I figure that’s okay because we can pick up right where we left off. So here’s this year’s list of summer shenanigans we’re hoping to get done:

Two weeks ago I was walking through Chelsea Market with my roommate when a card in Posman Books caught my eye. Neatly printed across the front was this quote from Alexandra Stoddard that I had never heard before. The words sounded like the exact opposite of the life I’ve been living. I almost laughed as I realized that in the 20 seconds that I had been standing there at least two people had almost bumped into me as they hurried on to their destination, but not before giving me a dirty look for being in their way. Its almost a rule that you don’t stay still in New York City.

I sat down a few days ago and realized that I’ve learned a lot over the last 30ish days. Its easy to just keep moving forward without thinking twice about the past month, but I think its important to take a moment and reflect. So let’s look back, shall we?
As some of you know, a few weeks ago I signed up for Under Armour’s You Vs. Year challenge. The goal? Run 600 miles by midnight on December 31st 2016. I know it sounds crazy. 1000km is (Or 600 miles for those of us who aren’t about that metric system.) But didn’t I say that I was going to try some crazy things this year? I went to a funeral this week. I’ve blessed enough to not even remember the last time that I attended a funeral before now. It was so long ago and I was so small that I barely remember it at all. But this week there I was, among a crowd of people saying goodbye to someone that we’ll never see again here on this earth.
Last weekend some friends and I went on a trip upstate for some winter adventures. (More posts to come about our New Years escapades and our first time skiing!)
