As some of you know, a few weeks ago I signed up for Under Armour’s You Vs. Year challenge. The goal? Run 600 miles by midnight on December 31st 2016. I know it sounds crazy. 1000km is (Or 600 miles for those of us who aren’t about that metric system.) But didn’t I say that I was going to try some crazy things this year? What’s Your Legacy?
I went to a funeral this week. I’ve blessed enough to not even remember the last time that I attended a funeral before now. It was so long ago and I was so small that I barely remember it at all. But this week there I was, among a crowd of people saying goodbye to someone that we’ll never see again here on this earth.
Weekend Wanderlust: Great Barrington, MA
Last weekend some friends and I went on a trip upstate for some winter adventures. (More posts to come about our New Years escapades and our first time skiing!) Here are some of the pics from last week’s shenanigans in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Continue reading “Weekend Wanderlust: Great Barrington, MA”
Making the Most of 2016
I’m excited this New Years. I can just tell that 2016 is going to be a year of greatness. I know we do this every year, make resolutions that we may or may not actually follow through with, but any chance to try and have a fresh start is one worth taking. Resolutions are not about us running from our old selves or pretending to be someone we’re not. They’re an opportunity to dare to try again, to want something more for our lives, and to be the person we’ve been striving to become. We need to stop convincing ourselves that we’re not worth a second chance at greatness. If you’re honest with yourself you know you’re still hoping for more than what you had in 2015. And so am I. Words of Gratitude from Copake Lake
As I write this I am cuddled up with a giant mug of hot chocolate and the coziest blanket, looking out over Copake Lake. To celebrate a friend’s birthday/New Years (and because we’re always up for an adventure) my friends and I have traveled farther upstate for a week of shenanigans in the mountains. (Don’t worry there are glorious pictures to come!)
Becoming Unafraid
Today is my 23rd birthday. 23 years I’ve been on this planet and I have a whole lot of memories behind me to show for it. I have more blessings in my life than I could ever have asked for and amazing people in my life that I just don’t deserve. I am eternally grateful. I don’t know how I got here. I feel like every time I blink another week goes by, another month, another year. It’s like life’s been passing me by while I sit on the sidelines. Continue reading “Becoming Unafraid”
Midweek Meditation: Refocusing
I’m not someone who’s easily stressed but I’ve definitely been feeling strained lately. Between volunteering, classwork, my internship, and everything else I have on my plate it’s been feeling like I have no time to breathe. Its like the last few days I’ve been running on autopilot and by the time I get home at the end of the day I collapse on the couch and fall right asleep.

Weekend Wanderlust: 10.17.2015
How do you celebrate the 24th birthday of one of your best friends? You surround her with some of her favorite things: chocolate, glitter and best friends.
This past weekend we spent a night at Voila Chocolat creating beautiful sugary works of art and priceless memories. Continue reading “Weekend Wanderlust: 10.17.2015”
Am I Crazy Enough to Run a Marathon?
I wouldn’t call myself a runner. When I picture runners I think of super athletic people who eat kale for fun, only wear workout clothes and always have some weird-looking health shake in their hand. It’s like they’re ready to drop everything at a moment’s notice and go on a 10-mile run no matter where they are.
That is not me.

Midweek Meditation: When Rushing Gets in the Way of Life
Yesterday I was washing dishes when I suddenly dropped one of my mugs and it shattered all over the kitchen floor. (To be honest I may have also been having a private dance party since I had the apartment to myself, but I’m convinced that’s not the reason I dropped it.) I couldn’t help but laugh at myself when I realized that I was in such a hurry to wash the dishes that I wasn’t even paying attention to what I was doing.
