Midweek Meditation: Am I Enough?

Have you ever wanted something so badly that you’re afraid to even try? If you’re like me then you have a million things that you want to do with your life. But it feels like every time I gather enough courage to take the first step my mind gets clouded with doubt: What if I fail? What if I fall on my face? What if I look crazy?

Things My Natural Hair Taught Me About Life

I still remember the day I had my  Big Chop. I had just finished my freshmen year of college. A few hours after turning in my last final I was sitting in an old wooden chair at a friend’s house, the pair of scissors in her hand hovering above my head as she prepared to make the first cut. Midweek Meditation: The Waiting

Current Read/ Year of Yes, by Shonda Rhimes

Current Listen/ “Whole” by Jonathan McReynolds featuring India.Arie

How I Caught the Travel Bug – True Confessions of an Addict

The first time I traveled out the country by myself I was nineteen years old. My college had a winter January semester called Winter Study when every student would take a class, study abroad, or do an internship off campus. I still remember sitting on the plane to Guatemala City. I was alone, going to a country whose language I had had nowhere near mastered and planning to stay with a host who I had never met. All I remember thinking was “what in the world did I just get myself into?” Long story short, that month in Guatemala changed my life and I have never been the same since. This weekend’s adventure? The Museum of Ice Cream. The usual suspects and I spent a night tasting sweets, rolling around in a pool of sprinkles, and swinging on a giant ice cream sandwich. Nbd. Continue reading “Weekend Wanderlust: The Museum of Ice Cream”
